You don't need to worry about tearing out floorboards to put wires under them and instead you can choose to locate the receiver and the camera wherever you want, as long as they are in radio range of each other.
If you like to be a little more secret agent style, then most companies that manufacture security products also make cameras that can be hidden in tiny places where they cannot be found by way of any normal means. You can hide them inside of things such as pens or teddy bears. Pretty effective, if you do not want people to know that you can see what is going on.
